Unalone was initiated in Spring 2018 on Reddit. It is response to the growing number of people who suffer from loneliness. It is also and in particular a response to what happened in Toronto in April 2018 where an individual of the same online community was pushed through his own loneliness to kill 10 people

At present we are still a small but slowly growing circle of individuals from various countries. There is no formal organisation that has been set up yet. While we don’t want to build up a top down organisation but remain a bottom up movement, we still think that at some point it will be useful to set up a formal structure.
